Research Methods.
Deductive Research-
Is the theory of deductive reasoning, working from general to a much more specific. It can be referred to as a "top-down" approach, working from Theory- Hypothesis- Observation- Confirmation. This approach can be referred to informally as the "waterfall approach". The conclusion will now follow a logical approach from premises.
Inductive Research-
This form of inductive reasoning works in the opposite way to deductive research. It moves from specific observations to a far more broader generalizations and also theories. The term is also referred to as "Bottom up". This term is also referred to informally as "Hill- Climbing". The conclusion will most likely now be based upon premises.
Theoretical Research-
This form of research works on trying to prove or disprove a hypothesized truth. Also it is proposed future research, plans that could be carried out in the future but not at the current moment.
Empirical Research-
Empirical research is a way of gaining knowledge by means of direct observation or experience. Empirical evidence which is the record of one's direct observations or experiences it can be analyzed quantitatively or qualitatively. Through quantifying the evidence or making sense of it in qualitative form, a researcher can answer empirical questions, which should be clearly defined and answerable with the evidence collected which is called data.
Secondary Research-
This form of research is also known as desk research involves the summary, collation or possible also the synthesis of existing research rather than primary research, where data is collected from, for example, research subjects or experiments.
Quantitative Research-
In the social sciences, quantitative research refers to the systematic empirical investigation of quantitative properties and phenomena and their relationships.
Qualitative Research-
Qualitative research is a method of inquiry appropriated in many different academic disciplines, traditionally in the social sciences, but also in market research and further contexts.
Applicable or useful for you to use?
I found that i would definitely be able to use these terms of research. I think the ones in which i would be able to use the most would be, theoretical research. As the small scale project is about answering your question whether you prove it wrong or right. It would come under theoretical research as your trying to prove your point and get your answer.
The other main one that would definitely be useful are the secondary research, collecting all of my information from other sources and putting it together to make my own source of data.

Primary Research-
This form of research is also called field research involves the collection of data that does not already exist, which is research to collect original data. Primary Research is often undertaken after the researcher has gained some insight into the issue by collecting secondary data.
